Why the Pomegranate?

Living near Granada (yes, that’s Spanish for pomegranate -duh), these magnificent fruits literally fall into my path during my daily dog walks. But there’s more to my love affair with this fascinating fruit than mere geographical convenience.

The pomegranate tree is quite the trickster. Most of the year, it looks rather miserable, as if it’s channeling all its beauty into its fruit. Protected by thorns (much like the feisty lemon tree in my little garden), it teaches us that sometimes the most precious things require careful handling.

Opening a pomegranate is a gloriously messy affair. Half your kitchen might end up looking like a crime scene, but oh, the sensual satisfaction when that seemingly ordinary fruit splits open to reveal its treasure! Those gleaming ruby seeds, that magnificent abundance, that perfect shade of red – it’s nature’s way of showing off.

In ancient symbolism, the pomegranate represents both promise and danger, pleasure and pain – much like the journey of personal growth. This duality perfectly mirrors my work as an intimacy coach. Just as each pomegranate contains hundreds of individual seeds, each person carries multiple facets of experience, desire, and potential.

When we work together, we’re opening up your personal pomegranate – it might get messy, but the juice is worth the squeeze. 😉
